Jenn Lacy joined the Encore team as a Construction Project Manager in April of 2022 and now serves the team as a Senior Project Manager, Construction. She leads projects through their construction phase and enjoys working through the unique challenges that appear on each project. Jenn has been primarily focused in Maine the last few years and is looking forward to transitioning into Illinois in the upcoming months.
Prior to joining Encore, Jenn worked at the VT Agency of Transportation as a Civil Engineer, designing bridges across the state of Vermont. She then moved to the Agency of Agriculture, helping to provide technical assistance to Vermont’s farmers to improve water quality by designing and implementing new farm structures and waste water systems. Jenn is a licensed civil engineer and holds a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from University of Vermont.
She lives in Burlington with her wife and dog and enjoys spending as much time as possible exploring the natural wonders of Vermont (and chasing the perfect Vermont powder day). She is also an avid baker, striving to perfect her sourdough bread and pastry recipes.
3 Questions to get to know Jenn
What does a sustainable future mean to you?
Figuring out how to balance the natural vs built world. As a society we need to determine a path forward that takes less and gives more, both materially and socially.
What’s your favorite way to spend time outside?
In the winter, I love to get out and snowboard (either resort or backcountry). Snowboarding is how I was first introduced to Vermont as a kid and nothing sparks joy quite like getting fresh tracks on a powder day. In the other seasons, I bike, hike, swim and take as much advantage of the beautiful weather we have here as I can. My mom and I are currently section hiking the long trail and have 1 more section left up to Journeys End!
What’s a great book or podcast you’ve engaged with recently?
I love a good fantasy book series. I just finished rereading the Eragon series by Christopher Palioni. I last read the series as a teenager and it was fun to go back to the story again.
