Encore is proud to announce that we have achieved bronze level in SEIA’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice certification program. During our work through the bronze level modules, we evaluated our Parental Leave policy. While our existing Parental Leave policy was good for the United States’ standards, we determined opportunities for improvements that we could make in order to strengthen the policy and ensure it is more inclusive and equitable.
Our new family leave policy provides 12 weeks of paid leave for both parents. We are excited to increase our support for our team members during this extremely important time for their families. In regards to the new family leave policy, we would like to specifically extend our gratitude to Caity Hines and Amber Lessard, in addition to leading our company’s DEIJ committee, they spearheaded the effort of evaluating of our current family leave policy and provided thorough research and analysis allowing us to determine the new policy.
SEIA’s DEIJ Certification program features over 30 modules of content and tangible actions for our company. It’s critical to evaluate different policies across our company and as part of our on-going commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and justice at our company, we’re looking forward to continuing to work through the next modules in the certification process.
SEIA’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ) Certification program is a first-of-its-kind platform that encourages energy companies to implement evidence-based DEIJ best practices within their companies. The program provides resources and guidance as businesses evaluate their current DEIJ progress, and similar to other programs like LEED, users will achieve levels of certification based on the activities they complete.
The program features more than 30 modules of content for companies to explore and earn badges that will lead to certification.
Each certification is valid for one year and comes with a digital badge that companies can use to showcase their achievement. This program is part of SEIA’s broader DEIJ efforts and underscores the importance of company-level participation and contributions to the solar and storage industry’s diversity efforts. The goal is for every SEIA member to participate in the program, as of the end of January 2022, Encore is one of five companies certified under this new program launched at the end of 2021.
