Brooks, Maine– Encore Renewable Energy, a leading renewable energy developer, delivered a $16,000 donation to the Brooks, Maine Municipal Fire Department this past Sunday. The company celebrated the donation at the town’s annual Trunk or Treat Halloween celebration at the Brooks community park. The donation is supported through Encore’s Community Impact Program by Brooks Solar, a four megawatt ground-mounted solar array energized in the community last December.
The donation will offer general support to the Fire Department for resources and equipment necessary to carry out their work. The Brooks Municipal Fire Department, like many in rural areas, is staffed entirely by volunteers who dedicate their time to addressing emergencies in the community.
“Each project we develop is a partnership between us and the community we serve,” said Chad Farrell, Founder and co-CEO of Encore. “These community donations are one way that we can deliver value beyond the local power generated at Brooks Solar. We are honored to support the Brooks Municipal Fire Department with this donation.”
“Brooks Fire Department is very fortunate to have strong support from our community, and from the men and women who commit their time to this essential service. This donation complements that support and commitment by funding the equipment and apparatus necessary to fulfilling our mission,” noted Chief Hans Albee.
This donation is part of Encore’s newly-established Community Impact Program to support community initiatives with every project they build, and contributes to the company’s broader mission to be a trusted partner for all stakeholders associated with the projects they develop and deliver. Encore will deliver over $100,000 in community donations in 2025.
