Housing Vermont

Encore was retained by Housing Vermont, the State of Vermont’s leading affordable housing development agency, to deliver two separate net metered community-scale solar projects under turnkey design, development, and construction agreements. Under this model, Encore owned all of the development and construction risk, allowing Housing Vermont to focus on leveraging one of its core competencies, LIHTC financing, into the utilization of the investment tax credit afforded to commercial scale renewable energy projects. The projects were constructed on two parcels of land that had no higher or better use, allowing these properties to be returned to productive use.
