Farm at South Village

Encore was the full-service solar energy development company for one of the first commercial group net metering projects in the State of Vermont. The energy offtaker consortium assembled by Encore was a group of municipalities and organizations, which collectively committed to purchase solar net metering credits at a discount to their value in the form of a structured contract. This resulted in long-term savings on their electricity costs while providing a set of investment-grade contracted cash flows which supported the financing of the project. Encore worked with the Farm owners to site the project on a marginal area of the farm, allowing remaining land to be used for high-productivity agricultural purposes.
