Barre, VT– Encore Renewable Energy, a leading renewable energy developer and operator, delivered a $10,000 donation to Barre Unified Union School District (BUUSD) earlier today. The company co-hosted a small event with BUUSD at Spaulding Educational Alternatives (SEA), a school adjacent to Encore’s I Love Cows Solar array, which will be energized later this year.
The donation will be directed toward workforce education programs for SEA, an alternative school within the school district that supports students with tailored educational plans that address their academic and social/emotional needs. This can include vocational learning opportunities for fields directly supporting the energy transition.
“In order to meet the demands of the energy transition, we need to have a workforce trained and ready to meet the growing demand for new sources of electricity,” said Encore founder and co-CEO, Chad Farrell. “We’re proud to be able to support local educational and professional training opportunities that can ultimately create additional pathways for individuals to enter the clean energy workforce with the required skills and knowledge to be successful and make lasting impacts on their communities.”
“Our plan is to utilize these funds to provide our students with technical, hands-on experiences that will allow them to enter the workforce or the next phase of their life with a strong foundation and a strong direction from which they can contribute to the community and benefit themselves,” added Jesse Schattin, SEA Director.
This donation is the first of Encore’s recently-established program to empower community initiatives with every project they build, and is part of the company’s broader mission to be a trusted partner for all stakeholders in the projects they develop and deliver.
