You may have read a recent report in the New York Times today about a study linking solar companies to the use of forced labor in China.
The Times story acknowledges that “many details remain unclear,” but it raises reputational and practical concerns that as a solar company, we take very seriously.
Encore remains proactive in our opposition to forced labor and have signed the Solar Industry Forced Labor Prevention Pledge.
We join more than 115 solar companies that have signed the Forced Labor Prevention Pledge, and we are urging all of our solar colleagues to sign the pledge now. It is vital that our industry be united in rejecting these practices.
These claims are in direct contrast to our values and how we strive to operate as a company. We hold ourselves to the highest standards possible when it comes to the health and safety of our workers.
