Brian brings a long history of solar PV design experience, including having provided Encore with external engineering services for over a decade
Burlington, VT — Encore Renewable Energy, a leading full-service community and utility-scale renewable energy development company, announced the hiring of Brian Browning as Senior Director of Engineering. Brian brings a wealth of grid-scale solar PV and battery storage experience and a passion for designing best-in-class large scale solar PV plants. With a background that includes running his own solar PV engineering design services firm, Brian is dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and growth across the company.
Prior to joining Encore, Brian owned Solar Power Engineering (SPE), providing design services for commercial and utility scale solar and battery storage projects in the northeast region. Brian started SPE in 2010 and was responsible for design and construction oversight related to rooftop and ground mounted solar projects ranging from 150kW to 5MW. Prior to starting SPE, Brian worked as a commercial project engineer for groSolar and a project engineer and electrical engineering department manager for Northern Power Systems. At Encore, he will help guide the company’s growing in-house engineering service capabilities, including producing detailed electrical designs, construction sets, and power/arc flash studies, all of which will help further streamline Encore’s project design, development and construction processes.
“I’ve been working with Encore for years, and their dedication to building responsible, impactful projects continues to impress me,” said Brian. “I was drawn to Encore’s strong company culture and look forward to growing their engineering team.”
With extensive experience in power and electrical design, Brian is poised to push Encore to the leading edge of vertically integrated independent power producers. Besides his technical prose, Brian is generous with his knowledge and is always looking out for the best interests of those around him. His commitment to collaboration and mentorship will benefit the entire company.
“Brian is an invaluable addition to our team,” said Encore founder and co-CEO, Chad Farrell. “Solar is a relatively young industry, so finding team members with a deep and rich experience in the field like Brian is essential. Brian will bolster our in-house engineering team and mentor the next generation of solar experts and engineers.”
