Encore CEO Chad Farrell provided a guest lecture including an overview of both Encore and the solar industry and a discussion of future trends in the clean energy economy for the recently created Renewable Energy Track of the University of Vermont Sustainable Innovation MBA program (SIMBA). The program has looked to integrate sustainable business practices across the entire standard MBA curriculum and as a result has been named the top Green MBA programs in the country by the Princeton Review. The Renewable Energy Track is being facilitated by UVM SIMBA alumni and friend of Encore Jared Alvord of Skyview Ventures.
Chad spoke to the students about his experience with cleantech and renewable energy from a solar industry perspective. He touched upon his own career path, provided an overview of Encore’s business model and approach, educated the students about the skills required for success in the solar industry and opined about long term trends regarding decarbonization and electrification of our economy.
Other speakers include entrepreneurs and executives from the wind energy industry, the energy storage industry, the EV charging industry and the smart grid / energy controls industry.
