Leveraging Business as a Force for Good
Encore Renewable Energy® is proud to be a certified B Corporation (B Corp)
Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. Ultimately, B Corps aspire to use the power of business as a force for good to solve social and environmental problems.
As a purpose-driven solar company, Encore strives to create benefits for everyone. This includes:
Our Employees
With the firm belief that our team is our biggest asset, Encore offers industry leading compensation and best in class benefits. We offer a flexible work environment with a focus on diversity, productivity and opportunities for leadership, compensation and career advancement.
Our Community
We actively engage with and support the communities in which we operate to seek common ground and mutual benefit. This is especially important as we build out the nation’s renewable energy infrastructure and continually pursue avenues to minimize the impact of our work. We are committed to sustainably navigating the relationship between the natural and built environment as a critical part of the energy transition.
Our Environment
As a B Corp, Encore maintains an explicit social and environmental mission and adheres to a legally binding fiduciary responsibility through its governing documents. We are committed to our work having a positive impact on the environment and are grateful for the opportunity to work to increase that positive impact every day.
“For over 10 years, our mission has been to foster sustainable community growth, advance clean energy, and pursue redevelopment projects on environmentally challenged and otherwise underutilized properties. We have always defined sustainable growth in a holistic manner. This includes the creation of high-quality jobs, protection of the environment, strengthening our communities, and maximizing the economic bottom-line,” said Chad Farrell, founder and CEO.
What does it mean to be a certified B-Corp?
B Corp Certification doesn’t just evaluate a product or service; it assesses the overall positive impact of the company that stands behind it.
Certified B Corporations achieve a minimum verified score on the B Impact Assessment—a rigorous assessment of a company’s impact on its workers, customers, community, and environment—and make their B Impact Report transparent on bcorporation.net. Certified B Corporations also amend their legal governing documents to require their board of directors to balance profit and purpose.
In combining third-party validation, public transparency, and legal accountability, becoming a Certified B Corps builds both trust and value. The B Corp Certification process is administered by the non-profit B Lab.
