3 Questions to get to know Caity
What does a sustainable future mean to you?
A sustainable future means that we live in harmony with nature and have reached a balance between our consumption and what the earth can regenerate. Tackling climate change will take more than just transitioning our energy generation sources to solar and wind – we’ll need global investment and commitment to transition our everyday practices to be less wasteful and focused on individual wants rather than collective needs.
What’s your favorite way to spend time outside?
I enjoy reading and drinking coffee in my front porch rocking chair or backyard hammock. Spending time on the front porch doubles as quality time with both our neighbors and neighborhood cats. When my partner and I take time off, we enjoy exploring national and state parks via camper van and unplugging at farmstays in rural Virginia and Maryland.
What’s a great book or podcast you’ve engaged with recently?
My favorite storytelling/investigative podcast is Dolly Parton’s America – a nine-part series based on a history class at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville that explores Dolly Parton’s career and legacy. For one-off episodes, I like listening to Modern Love or Normal Gossip.
