Meeting New York's renewable energy goals

Constable Solar is a ground-mounted solar array, located in the Town of Constable. The project delivers affordable, reliable, and carbon-free electricity to NYSEG customers under New York’s NY-Sun Initiative and Value of Distributed Energy Resources (VDER) program. Constable Solar was initially developed by Citrine Power LLC and acquired by Encore Renewable Energy, who will serve as the long-term owner and operator. Constable Solar is supporting the local agricultural community through a partnership to manage the sites vegetation with solar grazing provided by J&R Pierce Family Farm.

Constable Solar Stories

“Our partnership with Encore on the Constable Solar project is a win-win. Integrating our sheep grazing with the solar array helps manage the vegetation naturally and provides a valuable opportunity to support our family farm and keep the land in agricultural production in our community.”
