Encore worked with the Shelburne Museum to deliver 2 ground-mounted net-metered solar projects in separate locations within the museum campus. The projects were developed and built in parallel to create efficiencies that will accrue to the benefit of the Museum. Shelburne Museum will be purchasing the net metering credits generated by the systems at a discount, resulting in significant reductions in its electricity expenses over the 25-year life of the project. Encore is working to develop, design and construct the PV systems and has also arranged for permanent financing through one of its strategic investor partners.
The two separate projects will provide an estimated 1,200,000 kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually. This is the carbon equivalent of taking approximately 200 cars off the road per year. In addition to providing affordable clean electricity, this project supports the museum’s mission that is grounded in sustainability.
