Encore developed and financed a community-scale landfill solar project on the City’s wastewater treatment plant landfill. The array supplies the City with net metering credits against its electric bill, through a structure which required no capital outlay on its part. This repurposing of underutilized property for the production of clean solar energy is representative of Encore’s origins as a redevelopment company, and its ongoing commitment to repurposing marginal properties for beneficial use via the development of commercial-scale renewable energy projects.
