Vermont Public Power Supply Authority Solar Portfolio

Encore Renewable Energy and the Vermont Public Power Supply Authority (“VPPSA”) have formed a partnership to pursue the development, financing and construction of approximately 10MW of solar capacity across six to eight projects on behalf of VPPSA’s municipal utility members (“Members”). Under the partnership, Encore is leading design, development, financing and construction of the solar projects at locations in a number of the Members’ service territories. VPPSA will assist identified host communities in managing the resulting generation to maximize its value. The agreement allows for Encore and VPPSA to partner in seeking additional sites which are well suited for solar projects in other Members’ territories. The amount of solar capacity commissioned under the partnership represents a significant milestone in the VPPSA Members’ transition towards cost-effective, locally sourced, renewable energy resources. In addition, the projects will help the VPPSA Members meet their requirements under Vermont’s Renewable Energy Standard and will move the state closer to its 90% renewable by 2050 goal.
