Encore Renewable Energy participated in the national Catalysts of the Climate Economy Summit in our home city of Burlington, Vermont. The event, which took place on September 6, 7 and 8, was a gathering of over 500 entrepreneurs, investors and thought leaders focused on advancing what has been regarded as the job creating economic opportunity of the 21st century.
Among many insightful and informative presentations and panel sessions, the event also served as the formal announcement for a new climate economy business incubator/accelerator in Vermont called DeltaClimeVT which has been developed by the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund and includes a formal curriculum developed by Village Capital. The accelerator will provide support, mentorship, and access to capital for entrepreneurs in the climate economy working to integrate distributed renewable energy, efficiency, and storage technologies into the grid.
Encore’s financial support as a sponsor for the accelerator was announced at the Summit.
Encore projects including our 2.1MW South Burlington Landfill project and 1.4MW VEC – Alburgh community solar project were also highlighted at tour stops associated with the Summit. Encore’s Founder and CEO, Chad Farrell, served as tour guide for one of the six tours offered to Summit participants, highlighting a number of Vermont-based businesses and organizations leading the burgeoning climate economy.
