Dr. Peter Jansson
President of Integrated Systems; Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Bucknell University
Peter Jansson is President of Integrated Systems, a renewable energy consulting engineering firm, as well as an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Bucknell University. He worked as an engineer in the electric power industry and consulting for nearly 20 years before entering academia in 2001, during which time he designed/installed well over 100MW of commercial and utility scale solar PV systems during the nascent days of the solar industry.
Peter researched innovations in the electric power industry at the University of Cambridge, where he received his Ph.D., after completing his Master’s degree at Rowan University. His undergraduate engineering education was completed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has developed multiple courses over his 16+ year academic career including electric power systems, renewable energy systems and sustainable design in engineering. He has taught multiple classes abroad and his current research focus includes: smart residential microgrids; smart homes; interconnection of large scale renewable energy systems with the electric grid; photovoltaic system design and optimization; improving efficiency and costs of renewable energy systems; energy efficiency; sustainability for large commercial enterprises; economically achieving carbon neutrality; sustainable transportation, and Mach’s Principle. As a registered professional engineer in the states of PA and NJ, Peter regularly consults on all major aspects of the electric power systems and renewable energy. He resides in Lewisburg, PA with his wife and daughter.
